ÐÞ³µÂÛ̳é College of Healthcare is honored to partner with the on the JoAnn McGrath Women's Empowerment Initiative this year. As released by the Highland Street Foundation:

“As we celebrate Mother’s Day and continue to deliver on the legacy of our co-founder, JoAnn McGrath, we honor those who share her passion and commitment to empowering women with the tools they need to build stable lives for themselves and their families."

At ÐÞ³µÂÛ̳é, our students are adults who are not only studying to become nurses and healthcare professionals – they’re also juggling work and family commitments while in school. 90% of our students are women and approximately 63% are at or approaching poverty. Most are raising young families with an average household income of ~$40,000 and 31% are single parents. A degree from ÐÞ³µÂÛ̳é means a rewarding career, a livable wage, and economic independence.

ÐÞ³µÂÛ̳é is honored to be a past recipient of Highland Street Foundation support as well through an endowed scholarship founded in 1998. The college also awarded Ms. McGrath the Catherine ÐÞ³µÂÛ̳é Medal that same year. The JoAnn McGrath Scholarship is disbursed annually to students pursuing their nursing or healthcare degree at ÐÞ³µÂÛ̳é.
